1. Formation of the contract

1.1 These terms of sale apply to all goods supplied by us, The English Truffle Company.

1.2 No contract exists between you and us for the sale of any goods until we have received your order and a confirmation of that order, which may be printed by you, has been displayed on your device. Once you have received this confirmation, there is a binding legal contract between us.

1.3 The contract is subject to your right of cancellation (see below).

1.4 We may change these terms and conditions of sale without notice to you in relation to future sales.

1.5 Certain activities that we offer are subject to their own terms and conditions. Acceptance of the relevant terms and conditions is required as part of the ordering process:

2. Description and price of the goods and/or services

a. Retail orders placed via the web site

2.1 The description and price of the goods and/or services you order will be as shown on our website at the time you place your order.

2.2 The goods and/or services are subject to availability. If on receipt of your order the goods you have ordered are not available in stock, we will inform you by email or by telephone as soon as possible, and offer you an alternative product or refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you for the goods and/or services.

2.3 Every effort is made to ensure that prices shown on our website are accurate at the time you place your order. If an error is found, we will not be under any obligation to supply the goods to you at the price shown on our website at the time you placed your order. We will however inform you as soon as possible and offer you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling your order. If you cancel, we will refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you for the goods and/or services.

2.4 In addition to the price, you may be required to pay a delivery charge for the goods, as shown in the Delivery Information section. The delivery charge for your goods is shown in full in your cart or at the checkout prior to paying.

2.5 The prices on this website are prices relevant to consumers. If you are a trade partner of The English Truffle Company, you should contact us for prices of the goods or services you are interested in.

2.6 Discounts and special offer prices offered on this website are subject to availability and may change without notice.

b. Orders placed via email responding to a quotation

2.7 The description and price of the goods and/or services you order will be as shown on our quotation.

2.8 The goods and/or services are subject to availability. If on receipt of your order the goods you have ordered are not available in stock, we will inform you by email or by telephone as soon as possible, and offer you an alternative product or refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you for the goods and/or services.

2.9 Every effort is made to ensure that prices shown in our quotation are accurate at the time we produced it. If an error is found, we will not be under any obligation to supply the goods to you at this price. We will however inform you as soon as possible and offer you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling your order. If you cancel, we will refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you for the goods and/or services.

2.10 In addition to the price, you may be required to pay a delivery charge for any goods. The delivery charge for your goods will be included in your quotation.

3. Payment

a. Retail orders placed via the web site

3.1 Payment for the goods and/or services and delivery charges can be made by any method shown on our website at the time you place your order.

b. Private Truffle Hunts
3.2 We require a 50% deposit to secure the date and venue. The deposit is fully refundable up to 4 weeks prior to the event, and thereafter no refund will be made.

3.3 The balance of the cost is to be settled one week before the event. This may be payable to the truffle hunt venue – you will be advised.

3.4 The English Truffle Company reserves the right to increase a quoted fee in the event that the client requests a variation to the work agreed.

3.5 Invoices will be issued for both payments.

3.6 We accept payment for private truffle hunts by bank transfer (BACS) or SWIFT for international payments. Our bank details are on our invoices.

c. Rent a Truffle Hound
3.7 We will email an invoice to you shortly after providing your service. All invoices shall be paid by within fourteen (14) days of the date of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing by The English Truffle Company. In the event of late payment, we may charge interest on the outstanding amount and costs of debt recovery.

3.8 The English Truffle Company reserves the right to increase a quoted fee in the event that the client requests a variation to the work agreed.

3.9 We accept payment for our rent a truffle hound service by bank transfer (BACS). Our bank details are on our invoices.

d. Trade orders – Goods

3.10 Depending upon the value of the goods purchased, we reserve the right to ask for payment in full before dispatching them.

3.11 When we provide the goods prior to payment, we will email an invoice to you shortly after dispatching them. All invoices shall be paid by within fourteen (14) days of the date of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing by The English Truffle Company. In the event of late payment, we may charge interest on the outstanding amount and costs of debt recovery.

3.12 Legal ownership, or title, to the goods will not pass from The English Truffle Company to the buyer until the buyer has paid for the goods.

3.13 We accept payment by bank transfer (BACS). Our bank details are on our invoices.

5. Gift vouchers

5.3 Gift vouchers can be used in payment for the specified goods or event places online at www.englishtruffles.co.uk.

5.4 To use your gift voucher, please select your goods or events and enter the voucher code on the basket or checkout page.

5.5 Gift vouchers cannot be used for the purchase of other gift vouchers.

5.6 Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or returned under our return and refund policy or cannot be sold or re-tendered. This will not affect your statutory rights.

5.7 All gift vouchers hold an expiry date, please refer to your voucher for further information.

5.8 The English Truffle Company reserve the right to decline or withdraw gift vouchers and the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and to take appropriate action, including the cancellation of gift vouchers, if, in its discretion, it deems such action necessary.

6. Your right of cancellation

7. Data protection

8. Applicable law

These terms and conditions of sale and the supply of the goods and/or services will be subject to English law, and the English courts will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract.
