We use all of the above data for our own internal analysis to help us better understand how our visitors use our website. We do this to provide you with a better experience.

In order for you to shop with us, you’ll need to provide us with the following information:

Our entire payment pages are outsourced to PCI DSS compliant third parties (UTP Merchant Services and PayPal). We never have access to, or the ability to control, any card / payment data.

Once you have placed an order with us, we’ll keep hold of the following information:

If you have booked places on one of our events we will also ask you for the following information:

If you choose to set up an account to manage your orders, we will store the below:

We will also use most of the above data for our own internal analysis to help us better understand our customer base, and how our customers use our website. We do this to provide you with a better shopping experience.

We will never sell, distribute or lease your data to any third party. In order to fulfil orders and provide you and other customers with a highly personal level of service, we do share some of your data with the following data controllers:

• Our delivery companies – Royal Mail, Parcelforce, EVRI and Parcel Monkey.
• UTP Merchant Services, Barclaycard and American Express, our payment service providers.
• Paypal, an online payments provider.
• Mailchimp, an email marketing service.
• MailMunch, email list growth.
• Business partners who dispatch larger goods directly to you on our behalf (trees).

If you opt-in to receive marketing emails from us, we’ll send you emails very occasionally keeping you up-to-date with news, offers and information. In order to receive emails from us, you only need to provide us with your email address.

The English Truffle Company is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

You can opt-out of receiving marketing emails from us at any time by:

• Clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any of our marketing emails
• Contacting us.

If you opt-out of receiving marketing emails, you will still receive important order and delivery information by email.

We may occasionally provide links to third party websites to help you find other relevant information. Please be aware that any such site will not be governed by this privacy policy, and we therefore cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst using it. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the web site in question.

Hive Books
To help customers, our site includes some recommended books on truffles. Other than The Truffle Book by Gareth Renowden, we do not sell them directly. If you click on the ‘Details ‘ button for any title, you are taken, in a new browser window, to the web site of Hive Books. None of your details are transferred to their web site. The link includes a referral code so they know which web site you came from. If you make a purchase on their site we earn a small commission.

Your name and email address if you have opted in to receive our newsletter.	Until you unsubscribe or are inactive (you do not open a newsletter for 2 years). So we can send you our newsletter.
All information relating to your orders.	A minimum of 5 years as required by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
Accounts	3 years after ceasing to be active (placing an order).
All information relating to cancelled orders.	7 days

We encourage you to keep your information up-to-date, and you can do this easily at any time within your customer account, or by contacting us.

When it comes to your personal information, you have the following rights:

• The right to be informed about how we use your information.
• The right to access any information we hold about you.
• The right to correct any inaccurate information that we hold about you.
• The right to request that we delete information that we hold about you.
• The right to request that we stop processing your information i.e. using it for any or all of the purposes set out in this privacy policy.

• The right to object to, and opt-out of our email marketing at any time.
